Engine Service
Regular engine maintenance is crucial to its performance and longevity. A very easy task to maintaining an engine is regular oil changes. If these are not performed in a timely fashion severe build up of sludge can occur. Once the sludge begins to build up, an engine flush may be suggested to clean the internal components of the engine. Sludge can cause premature failure of the oil pump, sticky lifters, or poor lubrication to the pistons.
Other engine services such as injector cleanings are important. Clean injectors will help the vehicle to run smooth, maintain optimal fuel economy, and save on expensive repairs the internal components of the engine such as the pistons and valves. If the engine is running lean (lack of fuel) it can cause burnt valves and pistons. If the system is running rich (too much fuel) it can leak to the lower end of the engine and cause bearing damage. Once this happens the oil looses all its properties to lubricate the engine and the bearings will become scarred. When this happens the vehicle may begin to knock (make loud noises) and or loose oil pressure.
